One Person Was Injured In Los Angeles Hit-And-Run Bicycle Accident By The Intersection Of 7th Street and Bonnie Brae Street

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (May 23, 2019) – A bicyclist was seriously injured in a hit and run accident that took place not far from the intersection of 7th Street and Bonnie Brae Street.

California Highway Patrol are saying that the collision took place in the Westlake neighborhood around 3:20 a.m. The driver of a car was making a left turn when he hit the cyclist. 

The force of the impact threw the cyclist onto the windshield. The driver took off after the crash. There is an ongoing attempt to locate the driver of the hit and run accident.

Police are saying that the cyclist suffered a broken leg along with numerous other injuries.

According to California Vehicle Code 21801, “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to the approaching vehicles until the left turn or U-turn can be made with reasonable safety.”
