Model 3 Tesla and Motorcycle Involved In Los Angeles Car Accident On 405 Freeway By Mulholland Drive
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (October 1, 2019) – At least one person was injured when a Tesla Model 3 and a motorcycle were involved in a car accident on 405 Freeway by Muholland Drive.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 7:48 a.m. in the HOV lane. Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the downed motorcycle rider.
Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. An investigation remains ongoing at this time.
Liability In Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcyclists are more likely to be involved in crashes because of their small profile. Many accidents happen when drivers make dangerous lane changes without looking to see if a motorcycle rider is next to them. According to California Vehicle Code 22107, “No person shall turn a vehicle from a direct course or move right or left upon a roadway until such movement can be made with reasonable safety and then only after the giving of an appropriate signal in the manner provided in this chapter in the event any other vehicle may be affected by the movement.” If a Tesla was in autopilot at the time of an accident Tesla could face civil liability for the accident.
