Liability In Tree Falling Accidents

Property owners have a responsibility to monitor the trees on their property and take steps to make sure that they don’t fall over and injure anyone. This responsibility extends to cities. Cities should hire certified arborists to periodically inspect trees for damages and remove trees that could become a hazard. Trees tend to fall over when there is root damage, dry rot or due to disease.

It has been estimated that over 100 people are killed every year in the United States by falling trees. Victims of tree accidents may be able to recover damages for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A premises liability attorney can investigate your claim free of charge and let you know what your rights are. There are statute of limitations associated with being able to file a claim so it’s important to move quickly after an accident.
