Liability In Hit-And-Run Car Accidents

It is a deeply unfortunate reality that hit-and-run accidents are very much commonplace. They typically occur when a driver wasn’t paying attention and then caused an accident. No matter what the case is, a driver should always stop after an accident even if they are at fault. Depending on the facts of the case, there are a number of entities that could potentially have liability for the accident that killed Alena Gretencord.

The driver of the truck may be liable for taking off after the accident. Moreover, if the driver was working at the time of the collision the company that they work for may face vicarious liability. Companies are generally responsible for the actions of their employees. This is true as long as the employee was working within the course and scope of their employment.  For example, if a truck driver was going to deliver material and they caused an accident vicarious liability may apply. A car accident attorney can investigate your case, subpoena records and get to the bottom of what happened.
