Woman Injured In El Loco Roller Coaster Accident At Las Vegas Circus Circus Hotel-Casino Adventuredome Theme Park

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (March 28, 2019) – A woman was seriously injured after falling out of the El Loco Roller Coaster at the Adventuredome amusement park in Circus Circus hotel-casino.

Las Vegas officials are saying that the woman fell out of the roller coaster which is located at 2880 South Las Vegas Boulevard. Firefighters rushed to Adventuredome in order to help the injured woman who was taken to the hospital.

The amusement park is currently closed during this time as investigators are inspecting and testing the ride. The El Loco Roller Coaster was added to the park in 2014 and features a number of hairpin turns that produce negative g-forces.

An investigation into the cause of the Adventuredome theme park accident remains ongoing at this time.

Liability In Roller Coaster Accidents

According to the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission nearly 8,800 people are injured every year in amusement park accidents. These are only the injuries that were so serious they required that the patient be taken to an emergency room. There are many potential causes of amusement park accidents:

  • Mechanical Failure: Roller coasters and other rides are operated hundreds of times every day. If they are not properly maintained they can malfunction and cause serious injury.
  • Design Defects: Poor maintenance is not the only reason that rides malfunction. A ride may be inherently dangerous and unstable.
  • Operator Error: Ride operators have a responsibility to follow safety rules and make sure that users are buckled in properly. If the proper safety checks aren’t made guests can easily be ejected from a ride.

A casino/hotel may face civil liability for an amusement park accident under premises liability law. Amusement parks have a responsibility to take steps to keep their premises reasonably safe and prevent reasonably foreseeable sources of harm. This includes taking measures to prevent guests from being injured on rides.

Victims of amusement park accidents may be able to seek justice through a premises liability claim. Damages in a claim may include compensation for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. Injuries from falls can be long lasting and require extensive medical care. For example, the life-time costs of treating a traumatic brain injury (TBI) can easily reach $4,000,000. A premises liability attorney can work on your behalf and make sure that the amusement park that harmed you fairly compensates you for their negligence.
