According to ABC 7, a Los Angeles County sheriff’s sergeant was injured in a car accident in East Los Angeles on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

The car accident happened around 1:23 p.m. near City Terrace Drive and Marengo Street, which involved a sheriff’s patrol vehicle and a Ford Focus.

The 37-year-old sergeant sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to authorities, a K-9 was in the sheriff’s vehicle during the time of the car accident and was hospitalized as a precaution.

The driver of the Ford Focus was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
