HORSESHOE BEND: Girl Died In Accident After Falling From Scenic Overloook

Dec 28, 2018

14-Year-Old Girl Died After Falling From Overlook At Horseshoe Bend Just Months After Another Man Died In The Same Area

HORSESHOES BEND, ARIZONA (December 27, 2018) – A 14-year-old girl tragically died after falling from a Horseshoe Bend Overlook.

The coroner’s office is saying that the girl fell 700 feet. The family of the girl were from San Jose California.

Investigators are saying that she was last seen at 2:00 p.m. and then reported missing at 4:00 p.m. On Tuesday, the girl’s body was recovered.

This accident comes just a few months after a 33-year-old man fell to his death in the same area. Park officials have been worried that tragedies like this would happen and have been working to install railing at the Horseshoe Bend overlook.

Authorities are investigating the accident at the Glen Canyon National Recreational are in Page, Arizona.

Liability In Cliff Falls

Companies and parks have a responsibility to maintain their premises in a reasonably safe environment. Failure to do so may result in civil liability. A fall from a public cliff may seem like a freak occurrence, but it is actually fairly common. Park owners should do their best to prevent accidents like this or warn guests of the possible dangers of the cliffs. When there is a history of similar accident at a park, that should move park owners to action.

Victims of cliff accidents may have the ability to file a claim for damages. These types of cases can be extremely complex and require the careful eye of an experienced personal injury attorney. A premises liability attorney can investigate your claim free of charge and let you know what your rights are. There are strict statute of limitations associated with being able to file a claim, so it’s important to act quickly.
