Liability In Pedestrian Accident
When a driver is negligent and causes an accident they may face civil liability if anyone is injured or killed. Determining liability in a pedestrian accident is not always straightforward. This is especially true when an accident doesn’t take place at an intersection. A number of intersections have traffic cameras installed which police use to determine liability. Accident reconstruction is typically utilized when the circumstances of a crash are not clear. Generally speaking, around 50% of accidents are caused by alcohol or speeding. Victims of pedestrian accidents or their families may have the ability to file a personal injury claim for damages.
