One Person Injured In Hayward Bicycle Accident On Tennyson Road and 880 Freeway
HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA (August 16, 2019) – A bicyclist was injured in a car accident not far from the intersection of Tennyson Road and the 880 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 4:19 a.m. The car collided with the bicyclist for reasons that remain under investigation.
An ambulance was called to the scene in order to help the victim. They were later taken to the hospital. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Drivers are supposed to keep an eye out for bicyclists and take measures to avoid hitting them. According to California Vehicle Code 21200, “A person riding a bicycle or operating a pedicab upon a highway has all the rights and is subject to all the provisions applicable to the driver of a vehicle by this division, including, but not limited to, provisions concerning driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages or drugs, and by Division 10.”
