Motorcyclist Killed In Grass Valley DUI Car Accident On Highway 49
GRASS VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (September 27, 2019) – A 38-year-old motorcyclist has tragically died in a car accident with a drunk driver on Highway 49.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. A 21-year-old driver is accused of operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol and allowing her vehicle to drift into opposing lanes of traffic.
Her car then hit a motorcyclist causing the rider to be ejected. Despite life-saving efforts the motorcyclist was later pronounced dead.

It is a felony to operate a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and cause an accident that results in bodily injury. According to California Vehicle Code 20001, “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident and shall fulfill the requirements of Sections 20003 and 20004.” The family of any victim that died in a pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through California Code of Civil Procedure 377.60.
