According to ABC 7, a man was killed and a passenger was severely injured in a head-on car accident on the 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch on Sunday, November 19, 2017.
The accident, reported as a wrong-way car accident, happened around 12:30 a.m.
According to authorities, the suspect was driving a Toyota Camry and crashed head-on into a 2003 Lexus sedan near the De Soto Avenue exit.
The Lexus driver, identified as Justin Nero Christian, 38, was killed in the car accident. His girlfriend, identified as Brooklyn Acker, 25, was severely injured and transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
Acker sustained several severe injuries, such as a torn aorta, bruised kidney, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, damaged liver, cut intestine, and a broken jaw, according to her family.
The wrong-way driver was also killed in the car accident and was described as a 30-year-old man.
The cause of the car accident remains under investigation.
