Fatal Chula Vista car accident involving border patrol vehicle

According to the San Diego Union Tribune, one person died after a fatal car accident involving a border patrol vehicle in Chula Vista on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

According to authorities, the fatal car accident involving a border patrol vehicle occurred around 12:35 a.m. near the intersection of Otay Lakes Road and Hunte Parkway.

A woman was traveling south on Hunte Parkway in a Pontiac Atzek and the Border Patrol agent was traveling east on Otay Lakes. As a result of the impact, the Pontiac flipped over.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital, where she later died. The woman has not been identified due to pending family notification.

The Border Patrol agent sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The cause of the fatal car accident remains under investigation. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to have been factors in the fatal car collision.
