Pedestrian Killed In Echo Park Car Accident On Interstate 10 Freeway Near Alvarado Street
ECHO PARK, CALIFORNIA (August 29, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in a car accident on the Interstate 101 Freeway near Alvarado Street.
According to California Vehicle Code 2:45 a.m. For reasons that remain under investigation, a car traveling down the freeway pulled over to the shoulder.
The driver got out of the vehicle and was hit by several cars. Paramedics were called to the scene. Despite life-saving efforts the victim was later pronounced dead.

Drivers are supposed to keep an eye out for pedestrian even if those pedestrians are outside of marked crosswalks. According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “Subdivision (b) does not relieve a driver of a vehicle from the duty of exercising due care for the safety of any pedestrian within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection.” The family of any victim that died in a pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim.
