According to the OC Register, a 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his pickup truck into a police vehicle in Santa Ana on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Jackson Street and 1st Street.
According to officials, Ignacio Roldan-Peralto was driving a 2014 Chevy Silverado with a female passenger when he made a left turn and crashed into the police vehicle, causing major damage to both vehicles.
The officer, who was not named, was transferred to a nearby hospital.
Officials said the officer is in a good condition.
Roldan-Peralto and his passenger were not injured.
Roldan-Peralto was taken to Santa Ana Jail on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
