DISNEY EMPLOYEE KILLED WHILE CROSSING THE STREET IN BURBANK

According to KTLA, a suspected DUI driver struck and killed a Walt Disney Studios employee Thursday, September 7, 2017.

The victim, identified as 54-year-old Michelle Landes, was crossing in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Alameda Avenue and Lincoln Street around 9:10 a.m. when she was hit by the suspected DUI driver.

Landes was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.After the initial crash, the driver, 37-year-old Stergios Economos, crashed into three other vehicles on the street.There was a passenger in Economos’ car who was detained and later released.

Economos is being held on $1 million bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday, September 11, 2017.Burbank Police Department urges anyone who witnessed the crash to call (818) 238-3100.
