Liability In Pedestrian Accidents
Drivers have a responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner in order to avoid causing accidents. According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.”
Most accidents are cause by drivers that are inexperienced, drunk or distracted. Any person that is injured in an accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help a victim with lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A pedestrian accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case free of cost and get to the bottom of what happened. It doesn’t cost anything to hire an attorney and they only get paid if they are able to successfully resolve your case.
