Liability In Car Accidents
Drivers have a common law duty to obey the rules of the road and take steps to avoid accidents. It has been estimated that nearly 94% of accidents that occur are due to human error. Speeding and distracted driving can have deadly consequences. Every year in the United States around 35,000 people are killed in car accidents.
Victims of car accidents or their family will normally have the ability to file a claim for damages. There are statute of limitations associated with filing a claim, so it’s important to act quickly. Even before the statute of limitations runs out, evidence may no longer be available after a certain period of time has passed. A wrongful death attorney can examine the specific facts of your case and let you know if you have a claim that can be pursued.
