Child not restrained in car seat killed in West Covina car accident

According to ABC 7, a one-month-old girl, who was not restrained in her car seat, was killed in a car accident on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in West Covina.

The car accident was reported around 5 a.m., near the 2100 block of East Cortez street, when the child’s mother crashed into a pole.

According to authorities, the child was in the front passenger’s seat and her car seat was not restrained. As a result, the child was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The mother, identified as a 32-year-old woman from Covina, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities claimed that the mother may face charges.

The cause of the fatal accident remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
