Pedestrian Killed In Chico Car Accident by 9th Street and Main Street
CHICO, CALIFORNIA (November 4, 2019) – A pedestrian was tragically killed in a car accident near the intersection of East 9th Street and Main Street.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 7:14 a.m. For reasons that remain under investigation an SUV hit the pedestrian.
The victim was taken to the Enloe Medical Center but later died due to their injuries. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.

According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.” The family of any victim that died in a pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through California Code of Civil Procedure 377.60.
