Liability In Car Accidents
All drivers have a legal responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner and stay in their lanes. If a driver crosses over double yellow lines they will likely be held at fault in the event of an accident. According to California Vehicle Code 21460, “If double parallel solid yellow lines are in place, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive to the left of the lines, except as permitted in this section.” Any person that is injured in a car accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering.
