BLOOMINGTON, CALIFORNIA (July 12, 2019) – A motorcyclist was tragically killed in a car accident on Friday after a crash on the Interstate 10 Freeway near cedar avenue.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident took place around 4:12 a.m. The driver of the motorcycle was involved in an initial accident and then run over by several other vehicles.
An ambulance was called to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead due to his injuries. An investigation into the Bloomington motorcycle accident remains ongoing at this time.
Liability In Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcyclists are much more likely to be involved in accidents due to their small profile. If there is an accident they are much more likely to be seriously injured. All drivers have a legal responsibility to operate their vehicle according to the prevailing conditions in order to avoid accidents. According to California Vehicle Code 22350, “No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.”
The family of any victim that died in an accident may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. Damages in a civil claim can help with funeral expenses, lost wages and emotional trauma. A wrongful death attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with filing a claim, so it’s important to act quickly.
