One Person Killed In Bakersfield Bicycle Accident On Kentucky Street
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (September 9, 2019) – One person was killed in a car accident along Kentucky Street.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the victim was riding a bicycle prior to the accident. The victim was hit by one vehicle which fled the scene.
Unfortunately, the victim was then hit and killed by a second vehicle. Police are still searching for the first driver.

It is a felony to flee the scene of an accident that results in bodily injury. According to California Vehicle Code 20001, “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident and shall fulfill the requirements of Sections 20003 and 20004.” Drivers that flee the scene of an accident may face civil as well as criminal liability for their actions.
