Liability In Pedestrian Accidents
Drivers have a legal responsibility to operate their vehicles in a reasonably safe manner in order to avoid accidents. According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.”
Any person that is injured in a pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. A car accident attorney can examine your case free of cost and let you know what your legal options are. There are, however, time limits associated with being able to pursue a claim, so it’s important to act quickly.
