According to the San Bernardino Sun, one person was killed and another person was injured in a head-on crash that involved a truck and a tractor-trailer in Lucerne Valley on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
Authorities believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
The collision occurred around 11:10 p.m. on Highway 18 near Camp Rock Road in Lucerne Valley.
According to police, the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was heading northbound on Highway 18 when his vehicle veered into opposing traffic for an unknown reason. As a result, the driver of the Silverado struck a tractor-trailer head on.
Police said the driver of the Silverado was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle.
His name is being withheld pending family notification.
The passenger of the Silverado sustained minor injuries and the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
