6 killed in Woodland wrong-way car accident

According to the Mercury News, six people were killed in a car accident on the Interstate-5 in Woodland on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

The fatal car accident was reported around 12:32 a.m. and was caused by a wrong-way driver.

According to authorities, 38-year-old Michelle Doxie, was in a Chevrolet heading southbound in the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2013 Dodge. The Dodge had five people inside at the time of the fatal car accident.

All six people involved in the wrong-way car accident died instantly due to the impact of the fatal crash.

The five friends in the Dodge were identified as Jessica Garcia Romero, 19; Kristian Macias Paiz, 23; Cristian Lopez Cambron, 25; Raquel Lopez Valencia, 21; and Yaneth Lopez Cambron, 19.

The cause of the wrong-way car accident remains under investigation. Toxicology reports are still pending to determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the fatal car accident.

A friend of one of the victims created a GoFundMe page to contribute to the all of the victims’ funeral expenses during this difficult time.
