4 students struck near Paramount High School

According to KTLA, four students were struck by a truck in Paramount on Monday, March 19, 2018.

The pedestrian accident involving a truck occurred around 3 p.m., when the four students were struck by a truck at the intersection of Rosecrans and Downey avenues near Paramount High School.

All four victims, three girls and one boy, sustained injuries. Two of the victims were transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, and the other two victims were transported to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.

The teen driver of the black pickup truck was driving recklessly, which caused him to spin out of control and onto the sidewalk. According to authorities, the teen driver was not suspected to be impaired at the time of the pedestrian accident.

The teen driver was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and is expected to appear at Compton Superior Court on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
