According to the San Bernardino Sun, three law enforcement officials were investigating a shooting in Highland, when a car driven by an unlicensed driver lost control and struck them on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
The pedestrian accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. near Rogers Lane and 11st Street.
The three victims, identified as a sergeant, a deputy, and an investigator from the San Bernardino Country District Attorney’s Office were investigating a shooting in the area. Hugo Pineda Jr., 20, of Highland was driving a Nissan Sentra, when he lost control of his vehicle, hit a parked car, and struck the three victims.
Authorities determined that Pineda was not licensed.
The cause of the pedestrian accident remains under investigation.
