3 killed, 5 injured in Fremont car accident caused by DUI driver

According to ABC 7, three people were killed and five others were injured in a car accident caused by a man driving under the influence of marijuana on the 880 Freeway in Fremont on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

The car accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Stevenson Boulevard, when the suspect was driving recklessly at high speeds. As a result, three people, identified as an adult female, a teenager, and a child were killed in the fatal car accident.

In addition, five others, including an infant, were amongst those injured in the car accident.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Dang Nguyen Hai Tran of San Jose, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana.

The DUI driver was not injured in the car accident.
