According to the OC Register, two people were killed in a chain-reaction crash on the southbound 57 Freeway in Diamond Bar on Saturday, October 28, 2017.
According to authorities, the multi-vehicle crash involved a black Toyota Carolla, a tow truck, a white Toyota Tacoma, and another vehicle.
The chain-reaction crash occurred around 2:52 a.m. near Diamond Bar Boulevard when a Toyota Carolla struck a tow truck that responded to an earlier crash.
Shortly after, a Toyota Tacoma came along and crashed into the Carolla.
The driver and the passenger of the Toyota Carolla were ejected and killed due to the impact of the Toyota Tacoma slamming into their vehicle.
The driver of the Toyota Carolla was identified as Eduardo Lins Goncalves and the passenger was only identified as a 25-year-old woman.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, identified as Vincent de la Vega, 29, of Santa Ana was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He sustained fractured ribs and bruises to his chest.
