According to the San Bernardino Sun, two people were killed in a fatal car accident in Riverside on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
The car accident occurred around 3:14 a.m., when the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into a Nissan Sentra that was attempting to make a left turn onto the 60 Freeway on-ramp.
The driver of the Jeep fled the scene, but was later found and detained by Riverside police. The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Alfredo Figueroa-Reyes. Reyes was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
The two passengers who were in the Nissan, identified as Christopher Morales, 25, and Desmond Franklin, 26, were both killed in the car accident. The driver of the Nissan sustained moderate injuries.
The cause of the fatal car accident remains under investigation.
