2 killed and 2 injured in violent South L.A. car accident

According to CBS, a man and a woman were killed and two others were seriously injured in a violent car accident in South Los Angeles on Sunday, February 11, 2018.

The fatal car accident was reported around 10:13 p.m. at the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Sixth Avenue in Jefferson Park, when a driver lost control and T-boned another vehicle.

The driver of a Toyota Scion, identified as 18-year-old Diego Portillo-Marquez, and a 20-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger of the Scion sustained critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to witnesses, the driver of the Scion was traveling about 100 mph, when he lost control of the vehicle and was T-boned by a Toyota Tacoma, which then caused the Scion to flip over.

The driver of the truck, identified as a 44-year-old man, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The Scion was believed to have been racing another vehicle.
