2 killed, 1 injured in Florida Tesla car accident

According to ABC 7, two teens were killed in a Tesla car accident in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Both 18-year-old victims, identified as Barrett Riley and Edgar Monserratt were traveling in the Tesla Model S in an area known as the “dead man’s curve,” when the vehicle crashed into a wall and immediately burst into flames.

As a result of the deadly Tesla car accident, both victims were trapped inside the burning vehicle.

A witness noticed both victims trying to break free from the vehicle; however, no one was able to help them.

A third passenger in the Tesla, identified as 18-year-old Alexander Berry, was ejected from the vehicle. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and sustained injuries. His condition remains unknown.

Both victims killed in the Tesla crash were students at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale and were just weeks away from graduation.

According to authorities, speed may have been a factor in the deadly Tesla car accident.

As a result of the fatal car accident, Tesla will be conducting an investigation to better understand the impact along with its relation to the electric battery fire.
