According to CNN, a man suspected of intentionally crashing into a crowd of pedestrians killed 10 people and injured 15 on Monday, April 23, 2018 in Toronto, Canada.
The fatal pedestrian accident was reported around 1:30 p.m., when 25-year-old Alek Minassian, of Richmond Hill, Ontario, plowed into a group of people with a van near the intersection of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue.
According to witnesses, Minassian was driving recklessly, with a deliberate attempt of plowing into the crowd of pedestrians.
As a result of the fatal incident, 10 people were killed and 15 others were injured. The pedestrians who were injured suffered a range of injuries.
Police detained Minassian, and he was charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder as well as 13 counts of attempted murder.
According to authorities, investigators are still trying to figure out a motive behind Minassian’s attack.
