1 killed, another injured in Long Beach car accident

According to the Press Telegram, one person was killed and another person was injured after a car accident in Long Beach on Monday, March 19, 2018.

The fatal car accident occurred around 6:55 p.m. on Friday near the Long Beach Traffic Circle, when the 54-year-old driver of a 2017 Maserati Quattroporte was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle.

The driver of the Maserati was attempting to make a left turn, lost control of his vehicle, and crashed into a tree.

According to authorities, the driver of the Maserati was thrown from the vehicle even though he was wearing his seatbelt.

The driver sustained serious injuries and the passenger, identified as 42-year-old Joseph Testone Jr., was killed in the fatal car accident.

According to authorities, alcohol may have been a factor in the car accident.

The car accident remains under investigation.
