According to the San Diego Tribune, a driver whose truck broke down was killed when he and a tow truck driver were struck by a vehicle while standing on the side of an off-ramp on Route 94 on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in Lemon Grove.

According to authorities, the crash happened around 5: 50 p.m. on the Lemon Grove Avenue off-ramp when the motorist’s vehicle was being loaded onto a tow truck trailer and a man driving a Lexus crashed into the back of the trailer.

The driver of the Lexus struck the motorist and the tow truck driver.

The motorist died at the scene and has not been identified.

The tow truck driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to authorities, the driver of the Lexus is a 40-year-old resident of National City and cooperated with officials at the scene.

Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors in the collision.
