According to KTLA, one person was injured after a Tesla in Autopilot mode crashed into a parked Laguna Beach Police Department vehicle on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.
The Tesla car accident was reported around 11 a.m., when the Tesla slammed into the police SUV.
The 65-year-old Tesla driver sustained minor injuries, but declined transport to a hospital.
No one was inside of the police SUV at the time of the Tesla car accident.
Due to the impact, the Tesla sustained front end damage and the police SUV sustained damage to the rear driver’s side.
The cause of the Tesla car accident remains under investigation.
Tesla has come under scrutiny due to their Autopilot feature, which has been the root of several Tesla car accidents.
